The Economist has written an interesting article about Alibaba, a “behemoth” e-commerce company in China. To illustrate its importance, “last year two of Alibaba’s portals together handled 1.1 trillion yuan ($170 billion) in sales, more than eBay and Amazon combined.” In May, founder Jack Ma is handing over the chief executive job to Jonathan Lu. In addition, the firm is expected to announce details of its initial public offering.
