Nearshore Manufacturing and Freight Sourcing Demands

The Strategic Sourceror explores how reshoring manufacturing has the potential to “drastically reduce transportation costs.” Fleet Owner’s recent article “A ‘Near-Shoring’ Ripple Effect for Freight?” states that freight logistics will see benefits from the nearshore manufacturing trend. This trend, though not involving all manufacturers, shows that “many firms are strategically reshoring some or all production due to difficulties with offshore suppliers, delayed deliveries or issues with quality,” according to Spend Matters.
