OpenOwnership is an international organization dedicated to increasing corporate transparency across the world by making it easy to publish and access high-quality data about who owns companies. According to their website, to mark International Anti-Corruption Day (December 9th), they are “taking action with [their] partners to call time on the use of anonymous company ownership facilitating corruption and societal harms like trafficking and modern slavery. In collaboration with Open Government Partnership, the UK Government and World Bank, [they] are launching a day of action including two events to advance the shift towards beneficial ownership transparency around the world.” The events include a live streamed, open to the public panel discussion at the World Bank HQ showcasing support for activity and a formal invitation for countries to join the Beneficial Ownership Leadership Group.
