In Folio’s coverage of BNP Media’s acceleration of their print-to digital shift, which was planned to be completed by the end of 2022, co- CEO Tagg Henderson states, “It’s our belief that this crisis [COVID-19 pandemic] will speed up any current trends in business and we want to stay out in front of that…In this business, that trend is the shift to digital.” Staff were informed that print editions of its controlled (free for qualified) circulation trade magazines will be phased out by July 31. The new time frame set “was in anticipation of the ‘difficult economic environment’ brought on by the pandemic.” Henderson noted that digital editions now make up about 30% of BNP Media’s controlled circulation. Three magazines that offer paid subscriptions will still be available in print: The ACHR News, Architectural Record and Engineering News-Record.
