The FTR State of Freight COVID-19 Intelligence hub is a resource that provides complimentary transportation insights and commentary on how COVID-19 prevention steps are affecting the economy and transportation markets. FTR is a provider of transportation intelligence, and serves the shipping, trucking, rail, intermodal, equipment, and financial communities. COVID-19 impact resources include new interactive dashboards that are being developed to track the real-time true impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the rates and volumes in the freight marketplace. The COVID-19 Impact Heatmap assesses the state-level impacts on the U.S. trucking industry by four equipment types – dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, and specialized – using Truckstop.com spot market data. Commentary, reports, and updates covering the most relevant intelligence on how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting the transportation markets is provided including spot market and weekly transportation market updates.
Two new indices have been launched as well. The COVID-19 Truck Freight Recovery Index is a collaboration between Truckstop.com and FTR Transportation Intelligence. It allows freight professionals the ability to assess trucking activity in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and recovery from it. COVID-19 Rail Freight Recovery Index measures rail and intermodal’s response and recovery based on pre-pandemic levels, while accounting for historical patterns and seasonal fluctuations. North American carload and intermodal, economically sensitive freight, automotive, and energy sectors are shown.
